Aparte Par, with Kristin Romberg, 2020
Mixed media on canvas. The paintings are inspired by an artist book made by Romberg and me during the "Endagbok" project. The book, containing a series of collages on red paper, was made in one day.
The paintings carry various Swedish names for the devil. The titles are inspired by old "jaktlappar" or "jakttyg," traditional painted cloths used for hunting wolves in Sweden. The cloths were decorated with frightening creatures like devils, soldiers or animals, mainly using black and red paint. These were tied together, creating a long chain of cloths, which was then used to scare and corner the wolves.
